3. Question: Name this American infantry soldier, who was murdered by a fellow soldier in 1999, because he was believed to be gay. He was outed by a fellow soldier who learned that his buddy was dating a transgender entertainer. His life story was made into a Peabody Award-winning film. Answer: Private Barry Winchell, subject of the 2003 film “Soldier’s Girl”. Winchell’s murder caused President Clinton to review DADT.
